3月7日，在十四侘寂風屆全國人年夜設計家豪宅四次會議廣東代表團小組會議上，全國人年夜代表廖志略向交際部副部長華春瑩分送朋友了一段特別的經歷：有一位來自厄瓜多爾的留學生，在茂名種下了一棵化橘紅“國際樹”。廖志略說：“他盼望遠在南美的家鄉親友能用上化橘紅。而我們的夢想，就是讓全世界認識化橘紅。”
這段故事，來源于羊城晚報的一次采訪。全國兩會前夜，羊城晚報“iSeeChina”欄目邀請厄瓜多爾留學生賀沛霖（David）走進茂名化州，拜訪全國人年夜代表、化州市培林橘紅種植專業一起配合社社長廖志略。
本年2月，賀沛霖跟隨羊城晚報記者來到茂名化州配合采訪廖志略豪宅設計。廖志略帶他參觀了化橘紅古樹貢園，并介紹化橘紅的重要功能。賀沛霖還品嘗了化橘紅茶、潤喉糖、橘紅啤酒等產品。采訪結束前，廖志略邀請賀沛霖配合種下化橘紅“國際樹”。
得知本身的故事被帶上全國兩會，賀沛霖非常驚喜：“天啊，這對我來說真的是一種榮幸。”
今朝全球已有30多個國家和地區在應用化橘紅。從往退休宅設計年開始，茂名化橘紅產品正式進進中東市場。“本年3月，我們還將帶著化橘紅參加法國農產品展。”廖志略說。
